SUMMER 2010 NEWSLETTER
Jul 15, 2010 by Rev. Christine
Dear Members and Friends;
Spring bloomed and brought an abundance of activity that continues to unfold throughout this year. Metaphysical Pathways, a new group that meets here on the 1st Sunday afternoon of the month, held its first Psychic Fair here on June 26 - a wonderful success. We raffled a donated brand new Apple IPAD, bringing in $870. We gratefully thank the giver. We celebrated the beginning of Summer with an evening filled with music by Sohpia, who led us in Sufi dancing, Crowman led us in the traditional Snake Dance, Ed led us in meditation with the singing crystal bowls, Eric with the Chakras and Bach and Tony telling us about the current astrological alignments, and Rev. Christine led us in the drumming in of prayers and blessings for the world.July 3, we had our Annual BBQ. Thank you Sheree and Thomas for cooking up all those tasty hotdogs. We had an array of delicious foods. Guests had fun playing Mexican Train Dominos and Outburst. We had a great time eating, and being together enjoying each other’s company.
We’re having fun exploring with the 5th Agreement summer book study group. Its an open study group on Wednesday evenings, 7pm, through August; except July 21. August Sunday Talks are about taking a spiritual adventure. Come journey with us!
Fall Classes: Rev. Christine will be offering Divine Science classes: Fundamentals of Divine Science; Practitioner Training (pre-requisites); Consecration (pre-requisites). These classes may be audited or taken for credit. All classes once taken may be retaken at no charge. In Oct. Rev. Pat is offering a book study on "Women, Food and God" by Jeneen Roth. More details will be forthcoming.
The Annual Holistic Arts Fair is being held Sept. 25 & 26. This is a major fund raiser and outreach for our Divine Science community. Volunteers are needed for setting up, working at booths, and cleanup. Sign up sheets will be available. We are also requesting donations towards the Silent Auction of new (like new) items of value, gift certificates for stores, restaurants, spas, hair salons, the healing arts, and etc. Last year the Silent Auction made $2000 at the Fair – the highest yet. Let’s raise the bar.
Our financial picture is looking so much better thanks to those who stepped up their donations, our booking of many new events and activities, the Summer Solstice Celebration, the IPAD raffle fund raisers, expense reductions and all those wonderful prayers. Thank You God! Truly every dollar counts! Please continue to keep DSCC in your prayers and affirm with us: "We gratefully pay all our expenses with plenty of money for major maintenance repairs and new projects, and to bountifully share. Our Sunday Services are filled with Divine Inspiration and Love, and all are so blessed by the overflowing energy of love, light, life and joy. And so it is!"
