"Law of Compensation"

This week we are continuing with the theme of Spiritual Law, and today I’m speaking on the "Spiritual Law of Compensation." The Law of Compensation is always active. It is the "balancer" in our lives to insure that we become givers as well as receivers.

Imagine you are born with an account that contains a credit balance of a certain amount. If we withdraw without replacing, the balance may run out. The more you give, the greater your account for withdrawal. This is about energy, for the entire universe is based upon energy; energy of thought made manifest in denser vibration is physical form. Our account is filled with Energy, Divine Spirit Substance, and we withdraw all the time.

The law of compensation balances our accounts. Some call this karma, or like produces like, or Emmet Fox called it "The Mental Equivalent." It is as breathing; breathing in and breathing out. We take in so much air for our body, mind, and soul and then we must exhale; releasing back out into the world. It is a constant process in exchanging energy.

If we keep taking without giving back, we will blow up like a balloon and soon burst, become light headed and faint, and will then release — having no good works. Continual exhale will eventually produce similar effects of blacking out; and then the body will resume normal breathing — again having no good works.

When in normal rhythmic breathing there is an even exchange of energy. The body, mind, and soul are able to function and produce good works; health, peace, harmony.

We use our energy in many ways. Energy can take many forms — money, love, peace of mind, health, joy. Energy is Energy. Giving back to God is how we give back to our account. We can do this through tithing plus our loving spirit in service. We take for our personal use, and give back for universal or God’s use. Just like the breath we breathe for physical life, then in the exhale it serves keeping mother nature in perfect balance.

Our fears, resentments, and guilt will strip the credit in our account fast. And if we give in fear, it does not refill — instead it continues to withdraw. Some say well I’m tithing so I can get my return. This is not the principle and will produce only what it can — more lack. But if one gives out of love, truly thinking of God first, and thanking God for all our good, then it produces good fruits and replenishes ten fold.

The more you give the bigger your balance. If you do not keep the balance even with using and replacing, the account will do it for you and take away in ways you may not have wanted; very high costs, unexpected car repairs or other mechanical problems, health concerns and expenses, job concerns, unhappiness & depression, losses, thefts, relationship problems — the list can go on and on.

It is beneficial to maintain a surplus energy in your account. It is much better to have a surplus in your account than to have a deficit.

When we think of karma, most people think of it as punishment for a wrong doing. This is only half of the equation. We also build good karma, so to speak, filling our spiritual bank account. Karma is the principle of for every action there is an equal reaction — it is the balancer. So we can build our good karma, and have excess which brings much good to our lives. And, if we mess up now and then, there is plenty of good karma built up to off set without major upset in our lives.

The other term "The Mental Equivalent", coined by Emmet Fox is how we expand our account. We expand our God consciousness. Jesus told us that we always demonstrate our consciousness. We always demonstrate what we habitually have in our mind.

"As within, so without" In the bible the word "within" always means thought, and the word "without" means manifestation or experience. Jesus said that the Kingdom of Heaven is within which is peace, harmony, health, freedom.

Jesus told us in the Lord’s Prayer, "Thy will is done on earth as it is in heaven." He is affirming the principle of creation. Earth is the manifestation, and heaven the consciousness.

If we want to change a condition in our life, we must change our thought and keep it changed. Then the condition will change accordingly. It is through our ability to hold focus to whatever it is we desire to demonstrate or experience. Unfocused thoughts will produce scattered results.

We clear out the false beliefs, or undesired thoughts that don’t support us, so that our focus of intention is pure and unadulterated. It is an underlying belief in our subconscious mind that will determine the outcome. We say one thing but really believe another. That is why we need to really look at our inner self, pay attention to those underlying thoughts and habit patterns.

If we want a million dollars, we treat for it, visualize it, and yet deep down we feel unworthy or have no good use for the money — it will never happen or will quickly be lost. Tithing is one of the steps in building the "mental equivalent." Giving back to God which God has so generously given.

Tithing is 10% of your full income to be set aside for God’s work. It is best given to the channel where you receive your spiritual help. Tithing is given freely without attachment to its use. A tithe is given regularly just like your income comes in regularly. It is constantly refilling your spiritual or heavenly account with God Energy. You can then draw upon it. The principle of tithing is the faith that all comes from God — God is the source of your health, wealth, peace and harmony.

But, if you tithe from fear or grudgingly, it will do you little good. One must understand it as a spiritual principle, just like all spiritual principles it is invisible and works perfectly by manifesting abundantly in the physical world.

It is a realization that God is your source; not your job, bank account, or investments. Although, God flows through these channels, God is not limited to these specific means. When we tithe we open ourselves to receiving from all avenues of expression.

When one experiences a financial set-back it is even more important to follow the principle of giving. Its like the principle of priming the pump. It is not the time to cut back your necessary expenses. Although, you may want to restrict wastefulness, and release unserving habits.

God will supply your needs, and if you cut back your needs, then you will receive less and less. Instead expand your consciousness in receiving and giving. Increase your avenues for sharing your loving Spirit in service.

Understanding the law of compensation is the basis behind an abundant consciousness. Again we are talking about consciousness work or building. Each spiritual law builds upon the other working together. It is our foundation to building a rich fulfilled life.

I’ll close with this thought, "The door of the Soul opens inward." We are reminded to go inward. We get so focused on our outer world of affairs — that we forget that the door to all our good is inward. Taking our thoughts, our focus, away from the outer world and turning inward to that deep sense of love, peace and harmony. Here the door opens to our heavenly kingdom.

If we try to push our door open with will power, it will only become more tightly closed and we will be imprisoned by our false world. When we meditate, relax and draw back, we give it a chance to open. God then opens the door, and we enter our heavenly kingdom -- which is true freedom.

Our spiritual account is renewed, is full and over flowing. Then as we return we bring a level of this new energy with us in to this world to fully live and do our good works in serving God.

Today’s affirmation:
"I Am a perfect expression of Balance in Action."
