"Choose Again"

We started the new year off by reviewing our accomplishments of 1997 -- those things completed, and those things not completed. We then wrote down those things that we desire to accomplish in 1998 -- these may be projects, attitudinal shifts, or take that vacation. We then wrote down what was blocking us from receiving or doing. Everyone that I have spoken to since then said "Me" meaning their own self. What we did that Sunday was put things in motion for the new year. We set the tone.

How do we get beyond that part of our self that gets in the way of what we truly desire to experience? I believe everyone here in some fashion has desire for heaven on earth. Their list of goals represent that state of living in abundance, of perfect health, peace, harmony, prosperity, and the living expression of the soul’s purpose or mission. Desiring to live from our highest Self rather from our lower or human self and all the wonders that unfold from that high state of beingness.

I believe that it is a constant choice moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day we choose who we are, and who we are willing to serve. Either we choose to be a slave to our humanous, or choose our Spiritual nature as co-creator with God. Every situation we face offers this choice, this challenge to be or not to be our True Self.

This past Thursday evening a group of us made a choice to commit to 60 days living as a spiritual being. One must surrender every attachment to the third dimension of living. This is not a physical throw away, but detachment in consciousness. One must give up everything in order to have everything. Some of us went through this program a couple of years ago. It is based on John Randolph Price’s book "The Spiritual Philosophy for the New World." It is extremely powerful in shifting your world view.

The third dimensional world is the plane of effect. The matching consciousness is as a human being. A human being effected by the world of phenomena. Or, some would call illusion for there is no truth in it. This realm is really a dream state of consciousness. Everything of the 3rd-D is an out picturing of our consciousness. There is absolutely nothing outside of Self. Everything we see is coming from inside ourselves. That can seem pretty scaring to some. How we change our experience then is to change how we perceive our world.

If we see ourselves as a victim, weak and powerless, frail, limited, then we are tuned to the vibration of our humanhood. The ego, always looks outward, reacting to the outer conditions through fear. Believing these effects are separate from our self, and that they can hurt us. We have given life and power to the world of effect to control us or we have to fight back. We struggle through day to day life. This describes the normal for most people.

If we know ourselves to be free — true freedom from all effects — creator of our experiences, Self empowered, unlimited, boundless, at peace and in harmony with the 3rd- D world; we are tuned to the vibration of a Spiritual Being. We become that saying "A spiritual being having a human experience." "We are on the earth but not of it." We are no longer the mankind of earth, or matter, but of consciousness and Spirit.

This is the new world view that is going to put the end to the world as we know it. They talk of an end of the world; it is the end of a perception. Just as the world being flat was a perception — not the truth. But yet, they lived by the law of their perception. Their beliefs became their law to live by. Those that believed in a flat world had a limited consciousness and lived a very limited life.

Until one day someone saw it differently, and ventured across the seas proving the falsehood of their world view. This dramatically changed the perceived world. The whole world became available to travel upon, meeting other races and ways of living. Yet, the world was still seen as a place to conquer or be conquered.

Yes we can choose how we perceive our world. We can choose to be victim of it, or responsible participant. We have our free will to choose, to make choices in how we respond, in how we act and feel. What steps we shall take next. What thoughts we shall entertain. All this sets our tone our vibration from human to Holy Spirit. As Spirit Being we enter the 4th -D of cause and bring it into the 3rd-D of effect. Instead of victim we are now creator. Although, we are always creating and always have been creating our world of effect. The difference is in our awareness of it.

There is always a perfect matching effect to our level of vibration. When we are in our vibration of human self we are experiencing our mis-creations. When we choose to raise our vibration, these mis-creations transmute and dissipate into the nothingness from which they came.

How do we do this, from the book "Conversations with God," Neal Walsh writes that whenever we are faced with a choice, before answering ask this question, "What would love do now?" Immediately one is detaching themselves and leaving space for the higher self to respond. "What would love do now?" The law of harmlessness as our Master Teacher taught. All our activities become love centered. We give up judgment, criticism, fear, projection, and see God everywhere expressing as everyone.

Then we turn the situation over to our Higher Self, we no longer worry or give concern to its outcome. When it pops into the human mind, for the ego just loves to entertain these lower vibrations, we simple state "This is non of my business." If it continues to persist in your mind chatter, then firmly state "I have already given this to God. It is no longer my concern."

We easily find ourselves slipping in and out of acting human or being spiritual. When Jesus Christ said, "If thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light." He was telling us that if our mind, our consciousness be fully focused in Truth, we will know ourselves as Spirit, and not the body of matter. This way of thinking, of being, is a moment to moment choice. And, I don’t mean that we think our way as a spiritual being, for it is when we are not thinking that we come into touch with who we really are. That moment between thoughts, as Depak Chopra labeled "the Gap."

In Divine Science we call it the prayer of silence. In the silence we connect with our true beingness. It is a feeling of lighting up. Every cell tingles with new life. New ideas come forth seemingly from nowhere. New understandings of the world and our relationship to it, and our relationship to God is revealed. The more we practice prayer and meditation we are bringing forth the New World, the New Jerusalem.

The battle of Armageddon is the battle of the soul. For when the ego begins to lose hold, it fights back with all its worldly effects. As a warrior fighting the fire dragon — the more one fights, more heads appear to be fought. Lay down the sword and you have won the war of illusion. Walk away, detach from the appearances of war, famine, injustice, pain, disease, drugs abuse, and abusive relationships.

One will never win by fighting with the appearances, instead choose to transform and transmute by asking "What would love do now?" "How can I see this differently." Surrender it to God, a higher power, and know that it is truly non of your ego’s business.

A couple of weeks ago when I was on holiday, I awoke Sunday morning about 4 a.m. My normal time for preparing for services. But, instead of feeling peaceful with the ocean waves outside my window, I remembered something I didn’t do. I had forgotten to arrange for someone to open up the Sanctuary for Saturday evening’s event. At first I began to feel bad, panic and guilt.

Then I decided this was useless, and I don’t know if there was a problem or not. So I decided there was no problem. That someone was here to let them in or they canceled. I affirmed that "The Christ goes before me making the crooked roads straight." Whenever it popped in my mind, I declared that I had given it to God it was non of my concern. When I got back, I checked for my messages and there were non. Then I talked with Al. He informed me that the group scheduled had called and canceled on Thursday.

If I had allowed my self to stay in that lower vibration of fear and guilt, then I would have been met with a matching vibration to affirm my feelings. Instead I chose to lift the situation and myself in consciousness — transforming the effects. This is what we refer to in quantum physics, as the effect of the observer. All the facts were not in, all parties hadn’t agreed to the outcome as of yet.

Years ago, I had an instantaneous healing, where the verdict wasn’t in yet, and the results changed between home and the hospital. Another time the doctors had viewed the x-rays and pronounced the worst, but I refused to view the x-rays or believe in their prognosis, and to the doctors surprise the best came out instead.

Our choices become to fight or support illusion, or to raise up and nullify. Let’s take a moment to still our mind. Begin to breath deeply, and bring the light into the body. Use your mind’s eye to look within your body. And, like a flashlight send light to every dark spot until there is only radiating light. Breath it in. Now feel this light radiating out from your body, in every direction -- above you, below, to the right side, left side, backside and front side. You now see yourself as a radiant being of light, shimmering brilliantly. Bath in this light and in the silence for a few moments. As we bring our consciousness back to this room, let us carry this feeling with us, remember it re-experience it often.

Today’s affirmation:
"Today I choose to see things differently. There is nothing to fear — My life is good and beautiful."
