"Bringing in the New Year - Part 2"

Today is the second part of a three part series on "Bringing in the New Year." Last week we reflected on that which was completed and not completed in 1999. As stated in last week’s talk January is named after the Roman two-headed God, Janus. Who looked both at the past and the future. Last week we looked at the past, and this week to the future. We are creating a vision setting our intentions and tone for this new year.

Last week I touched on the numerical energy of year 2000. This I wish to expand about a little more because it affects how we look at our intentions and goals for this new year. Going back to the energy of the years beginning with a 1; years 1000 through 1999. We see that this period of time was influenced by masculine or yang energy. It was a time of conquering our world; the elements, earth and people. It was also a time of developing our mental analytical capacities; the sciences. Building structures, physical power, and patriarchal leadership. The focus is on materialism and getting from outside our self.

We know the number one or 1000 energy. Now it is time to experience the number 2000 energy, and this year it is purely a number 2 followed by 3 zeros to intensive its energy. Zeros also open us to unlimited possibilities. This is a very expanding year; a year of transition — preparing us for the first century of the 3rd millennium.

Last night I was thinking about this two energy when I was reminded that we never really experienced the first 2 year of this Roman calendar because it didn’t exist yet. It wasn’t until about 800 years after the fact that the calendar was changed and so renumbered the prior years to the approximate birth of Jesus the Christ.

The underlying energy of 2 is feminine or yin. The 2 represents relationships with our self and others, community, balance, equilibrium. It is also about feelings, our inner and outer senses, desires. It is heart & spiritual energy, intuition, wisdom, and the source is within. I am reminded that the founders of New Thought refer to God as Mind or Divine Mind. As the years have past and especially in the last 15 years the term for God has changed to Spirit, or Divine and Great Spirit.

You can see the difference of emphasis; Mind is very cerebral in its limited concept; although, the early founders understood it as Omnipresence, Omniscience, Omnipotence. But Divine Spirit also brings us the heart energy; God is Love. God lives, moves & has its beingness in & as us - Spirit Substance.

The process we are going through today shall bring in the 2 energy. We shall first be visioning, which is an intuitive process. Visioning is more than thought, it takes imagination and it has feeling. Visioning is like a daydream except we are co-directing it. Ask yourself to see a view of your life in 12 months, 6 months, 3 months. You may wish to take different aspects of your life. Play with it to be the way you desire it to be. You can even draw a picture.

We know through our feeling if it is right for us. We check within asking our higher self, "Does this serve my highest good?" or "How does this feel?" does it feel right or am I uncomfortable? Or does a soft voice guide you to another direction? Look at the bigger picture, having an expanded vision of how it will be. Test the waters again. Be not concerned with the details of how to unfold your vision. Trust, this too will come through inner guidance.

We will consider those areas in which we desire to unfold and grow. I think of the teachings of Christ Jesus; the Golden Rule to love your neighbor as yourself, to love your enemies, to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. The Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount. A way of living and being that contradicts so much of the way it is now; to be gentle, humble, forgiving, peaceable, compassionate, and integrity. Ask yourself "what quality do I need to strengthen?"

Much of the way we shall be living in a short span of time will require us to have developed intuitive and energetic abilities. Such as, communicating telepathically, traveling anywhere without a physical vehicle, self healing and materialization. Many of us are working on these at this time, and some for a much longer time — the way-showers of today. The time to come for all is very soon!

We will consider our belief structures; do they support our vision. What beliefs will we need to change or expand upon to allow our vision to unfold? The thought that comes to mind, "By whose authority makes this true?" Question the validity of your beliefs. Next we write down statements that nullify our false beliefs. In Divine Science we call this "Creative Denial."

The process we are going through is an inner experience for bringing forth the outer changes in our life; the source is within us. As inwardly guided we then take appropriate action. Again the emphasis is always from within -- checking within.

In the third part of this series we will be covering our commitment.
