"Bringing in 2000 - Part 3"

Today is part three the final steps in "Bringing in the New Year" series. Last week we focused on visioning, drawing forth from our inner self a higher vision for our self. We looked at areas we would like to grow or expand in, and how we would like our life to be for this year. Then we looked at our belief system, and wrote down non supporting beliefs followed with a statement to nullify its power and then an affirmation of truth to strengthen our vision.

Today we are looking at our commitment — self responsibility — to our vision. We are told in Luke 12:31 "but seek the kingdom of God, and all of these things shall be added to you." We are told to first seek the kingdom of God. Building a relationship with God. We do this by the practices of meditating regularly everyday, surrendering into the silence, and contemplating upon God and Truth throughout the day. This process raises one’s vibration clearing out old debris and stuck energy. So that the mind can expand bringing in new ideas and possibilities.

From the Lord’s Prayer we have the phrase "Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heave." This is teaching us that what is built in consciousness (in heaven) will also be done in earth, our physical world. You are first building the consciousness in spirit, and then it is brought forth in the physical world.

Then in Luke 12 verse 32 we are told "Do not be afraid, O little flock; for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom." The key here is to not be afraid, do not entertain in your mind fearful doubting thoughts. Metaphysically flock or sheep represent our thoughts, and a good shepherd is one that watches carefully over their thoughts. We must be a good shepherd, diligently watching our thoughts, and then quickly removing those based in fear and doubt; those undermining our vision, and undermining the work done. Negative thoughts are like the wolves hiding in sheep’s clothing. They must be removed quickly before they kill what is ours.

We work on building a consciousness for our vision, and then those subconscious thoughts, beliefs tear apart little by little whittling away at our self confidence and worthiness to receive. Every little past mistake comes up.

The ego you see isn’t comfortable with change so it delves into the subconscious mind, your memory bank, for anything that will stop this process of change.

When you receive an attack or fearful thought see this as a big red flag, that your ego is signally you -- I’m uncomfortable with this. Some say that the ego is emotionally like a little child, and that we need to address it as such. At this point we can soothe our ego by remembering all our past successes. Assuring "be not afraid" there is no truth in that fear, and replacing with a positive or supporting thought. We must constantly be on the job of watching over our thoughts and ready to respond with Truth. In Divine Science we call this a Prayer Treatment.

What else are you willing to give to your dreams for this new year? Next are the action steps. You take time out of your day to hold the vision. Imagine yourself experiencing life as you want it. Get into the feeling of it — make it seem real. Give to what you want is a principle -- matching energy like produces like. If you want more time you must give time. If you want more money then you must give money. If you want more love you must give love. If you want commitment you must give commitment. This builds our consciousness for attracting and receiving.

For an example: Let’s say we want to take a great vacation. What other steps do we take after building our God relationship daily routine? I call this treat and move your feet. Its time to move those feet. We begin by imagining places, getting into the feeling of each one. Shall we go to the warm beaches or the snowy mountain tops, or visit sacred sights. We may go to a library or a travel agent for more information. Then we take our question within our heart. Checking within we decide upon our next vacation place.

Now we commit to when. We schedule with our employer, or mark out time in our workload. We commit financially by booking our vacation. We have set it in motion.

As time passes we continue with our daily spiritual practices, our imagining becomes more practical as we go shopping for a wardrobe and items to take along. We frequently view our brochures with beautiful pictures keeping our enthusiasm high.

As we save money for our vacation we also give to God’s work. We affirm "God is the source of my supply and my unlimited abundance of everything now." Until finally we pick up the tickets and away we go.

I have found that once I make a firm commitment to going, there is no turning back — I go. Even if I don’t know where all the money is coming from. This is the great part for we don’t have to know where or even how — that is God’s part for us.

We just need to listen and be receptive to guidance. Sometimes the guidance will come from other people, a poster, newspaper, TV or an inspiration from within. We are guided to our good. I have received unexpected gifts of money, a salary increase, a loan repaid, or an increased credit limit.

On the other plans that never came about, it was because I wasn’t truly committed. I found excuses for not going, such as not enough money, I’m too busy. It sounded like a nice idea, but I really didn’t buy into it. I didn’t even take the time to investigate. Conviction and commitment is needed to build the feeling of enthusiasm and move energy to support action. Then the rest comes easy.

In James Redfield’s latest book "Shambhala" on the 11th insight, he writes about prayer extensions to increase our energy, raise our vibration to receive inner messages and guidance, to protect our self, to send forth this love vibration to raise other people’s consciousness. To hold the vision of what you really desire and the universe will support you. This book showed the power of thoughts when supported with matching feelings. He got immediate feedback both good and otherwise.

Today I have another worksheet for you to fill out.
