Rev. Christine Emmerling
Divine Science Minister

Rev. Christine Emmerling was born on Feb. 9, 1946, and consciously chose the spiritual path in the spring of 1967.   Her early life was filled with the mysterious which developed a firm spiritual foundation for her life. As a child, and once again as a teenager, she experienced remarkable instantaneous physical healings. In 1966, she began to meditate and read metaphysical and New Thought works.  Her first spiritual books came from her mother, along time metaphysical student herself. She introduced Christine to the "Sermon on the Mount" by Emmet Fox (a Divine Science Minister), and  then to "The Infinite Way" by mystic Joel Goldsmith. These books lead her to the practice of meditation and the further pursuit of spiritual study. Her early adult years up till 1980, were filled with exploration studying all forms of the mystical, spiritual sciences, and various New Thought traditions.  In 1972, her spiritual journey lead her to Reno, Nevada, where she held her first class on the subject of meditation and spiritual awareness at age 25. It was in 1980 that she found herself ready for her formal training, and she remembered a Unity Church on Hicks Avenue that she had attended prior to moving to Reno.  Though the Church was now Divine Science, she found that the teachings were exactly the same as she already believed -- it was a perfect match.  It was in 1984 that Rev. Christine journeyed to Brooks Divinity School in Denver, Colorado, the headquarters for Divine Science, to become a licensed practitioner and teacher. But, this was not to be the end for her formal training. Daily she was being prodded by her mother (who became a Divine Science Minister the prior year)  to take the next step and become minister. Two years later, in June of 1987, Rev. Christine was ordained, and served as Assistant Minister at the same church that she came to in 1980.  In 1991, following her mother's retirement, she took on the position as Head Minister.

From 1980 to the Spring of 1994, Rev. Christine was employed full time as Manager of Information Systems and Computer Services for an international firm.   Today, Rev. Christine brings her many years of experience, joy and openness in to her ministry of teaching and spiritual healing. Rev. Christine also serves on the board of Brooks Center for Spirituality (Divine Science Denver School) and the Divine Science Ministers Association.
